President Trump Calls for Protesters to Go Home
The certification of the electoral college count is normally a formality, but this year, frustrations about the outcome of the November 2020 election piqued in fury. Although many of President Trump's supporters were peaceful, a group of rioters breached the U.S. Capitol building and lawmakers were forced into temporary lockdown. President Trump acknowledged the election fraud in a video but asked those causing trouble in Washington to go home in peace.
