Exploring the Marketplace

Today on Exploring the Marketplace, Shawn Bolz and Bob Hasson sit down with Raeanne Newquist, a dedicated member of Mercy Ships, who, alongside her husband and three children, left Southern California in 2019 to serve on the Africa Mercy. Their first mission led them to Senegal, where Raeanne volunteered in communications and later in chaplaincy. Today, she works with Mercy Ships’ U.S. Marketing department, hosts the New Mercies podcast, and shares inspiring stories through the Mercy Minute radio broadcast.

Raeanne’s journey is a testimony to faith-driven career choices, even when feeling unqualified or facing setbacks. She recalls how, fresh out of college, God placed her in the television industry as a light for Christ, and later as a college pastor, embracing ministry-focused roles despite feeling inexperienced. Raeanne also opens up about a challenging season during COVID-19 when she and her family were forced to leave the Africa Mercy, despite having given up everything to be there. She shares how God’s provision and faithfulness never wavered, even when their journey seemed uncertain. Raeanne’s story is an incredible reminder that God often uses our biggest leaps of faith to bring about His purposes.
