Revelation 3:20 says that Jesus is knocking on your door and He wants to come in and sup (or dine) with you, but what does that really mean? Continuing with the “Give Your Bod to God” series, the Busses look into Scripture and discuss inviting Jesus into every part of your life, including the food that you eat. They share their experiences of being led by the Holy Spirit to nourish their bodies better, and they give some tips for how you can get started today to make a difference in your temple, your body, where Jesus lives.

Our Father wants to be integrated into every part of our lives. He designed us to work with Him to fulfill His purposes in the Earth, and He’s waiting for us to invite Him to work with us to help us do things His way, including how we care for our bodies.

00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:03,400
He knows how many hairs we have on our heads.

2
00:00:03,400 --> 00:00:07,600
He knows how many trillions of cells we have in our bodies.

3
00:00:07,600 --> 00:00:11,920
And he is intimately aware of every detail of our lives,

4
00:00:11,920 --> 00:00:16,200
but he longs to work with us

5
00:00:16,200 --> 00:00:19,640
and help us to do things his way.

6
00:00:19,640 --> 00:00:20,480
Yeah.

7
00:00:20,480 --> 00:00:23,640
Like, as I said, I've been eating really healthy

8
00:00:23,640 --> 00:00:25,600
all my life, pretty much.

9
00:00:25,600 --> 00:00:29,200
But I haven't always let him make the choices.

10
00:00:29,200 --> 00:00:42,560
God promises in Joel 2.28 to pour out his Spirit on all humanity.

11
00:00:42,560 --> 00:00:46,760
Welcome to Global Outpouring, where we contend for that promise outpouring.

12
00:00:46,760 --> 00:00:52,160
We equip for that outpouring so that we may engage in that very outpouring.

13
00:00:52,160 --> 00:00:53,240
I'm Philip Bus.

14
00:00:53,240 --> 00:00:56,440
And I'm Sharon Bus. Welcome to the podcast today.

15
00:00:56,440 --> 00:01:00,440
You know, we've been talking a lot in the last three episodes

16
00:01:00,440 --> 00:01:05,360
about the things that God is wanting to do with us

17
00:01:05,360 --> 00:01:10,520
in changing our lifestyle and making us more and more connected to him,

18
00:01:10,520 --> 00:01:12,520
spirit, soul and body.

19
00:01:12,520 --> 00:01:15,040
So we have a question for you today.

20
00:01:15,040 --> 00:01:16,960
Does Jesus dine with you?

00:01:21,640 --> 00:01:23,800
Thank you so much for joining us today.

00:02:06,280 --> 00:02:10,560

38
00:02:23,240 --> 00:02:29,240

40
00:02:33,200 --> 00:02:34,840
And it's going to be life changing.

41
00:02:34,840 --> 00:02:38,120
So we just really encourage you to plan to come.

42
00:02:38,120 --> 00:02:39,200
It's going to be glorious.

43
00:02:39,200 --> 00:02:41,800
We'll get more information on our website soon.

44
00:02:41,800 --> 00:02:44,240
It's not there yet, but it will be.

45
00:02:44,240 --> 00:02:45,320
It will be.

46
00:02:45,320 --> 00:02:48,960
We just have to get some other things in line first.

47
00:02:48,960 --> 00:02:52,800
So the first thing in line is record this podcast.

48
00:02:52,800 --> 00:02:56,600
This is something that as I was getting ready this morning,

49
00:02:56,600 --> 00:02:58,920
I was getting ready to have my devotions.

50
00:02:58,920 --> 00:03:04,800
And I heard in my spirit the scripture from Revelation 320.

51
00:03:04,800 --> 00:03:06,200
Philip, would you read that?

52
00:03:06,200 --> 00:03:09,160
Behold, I stand at the door and dock.

53
00:03:09,160 --> 00:03:12,280
If any man hear my voice and open the door,

54
00:03:12,280 --> 00:03:16,280
I will come into him and will sup with him and he with me.

55
00:03:16,280 --> 00:03:22,640
So I got to thinking about now, what does that really mean sup?

56
00:03:22,640 --> 00:03:27,320
Because we really grew up on King James version.

57
00:03:27,320 --> 00:03:32,400
And that's what was in my head because that's what I've been putting in all these years.

58
00:03:32,400 --> 00:03:34,680
And I wanted to find out now, what does that really mean?

59
00:03:34,680 --> 00:03:37,600
So I went to find some other things.

60
00:03:37,600 --> 00:03:42,480
I went to Biblehub.com or is it Biblehub.org or whichever it is.

61
00:03:42,480 --> 00:03:44,240
I do it on my app on my phone.

62
00:03:44,240 --> 00:03:51,720
So when I went there, I found that the New International version says, here I am.

63
00:03:51,720 --> 00:03:53,640
I stand at the door and knock.

64
00:03:53,640 --> 00:03:56,000
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,

65
00:03:56,000 --> 00:04:00,760
I will come in and eat with that person and they with me.

66
00:04:00,760 --> 00:04:02,200
So what else do we have?

67
00:04:02,200 --> 00:04:06,360
The Christian Standard Bible says, see, I stand at the door and knock.

68
00:04:06,360 --> 00:04:09,160
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,

69
00:04:09,160 --> 00:04:12,920
I will come into him and eat with him and he with me.

70
00:04:12,920 --> 00:04:18,460
And the Holman Christian Standard Bible says, listen, I stand at the door and knock.

71
00:04:18,460 --> 00:04:23,400
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and have dinner with

72
00:04:23,400 --> 00:04:26,200
him and he with me.

73
00:04:26,200 --> 00:04:32,120
And the Aramaic Bible in plain English, behold, I stand at the door and I shall knock.

74
00:04:32,120 --> 00:04:35,360
If a man listens to my voice, he will open the door.

75
00:04:35,360 --> 00:04:38,720
I also shall come in and have supper with him and he with me.

76
00:04:38,720 --> 00:04:41,240
I think the word sup comes from supper.

77
00:04:41,240 --> 00:04:46,660
Yeah, I looked it up in the dictionary and it also means like the main meal of the evening.

78
00:04:46,660 --> 00:04:49,440
So supper, dinner, whatever you want to call it.

79
00:04:49,440 --> 00:04:50,440
That's what supping.

80
00:04:50,440 --> 00:04:53,880
So Jesus wants to have the main meal with us.

81
00:04:53,880 --> 00:04:54,960
Exactly.

82
00:04:54,960 --> 00:04:59,040
So the contemporary English version says, listen, I'm standing and knocking at your

83
00:04:59,040 --> 00:05:00,040
door.

84
00:05:00,040 --> 00:05:05,760
If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will eat together.

85
00:05:05,760 --> 00:05:11,240
And the literal standard version, behold, I have stood at the door and I knock.

86
00:05:11,240 --> 00:05:16,600
If anyone may hear my voice and may open the door, I will come into him and will dine with

87
00:05:16,600 --> 00:05:18,640
him and he with me.

88
00:05:18,640 --> 00:05:22,920
The Amplified Classic says, behold, I stand at the door and knock.

89
00:05:22,920 --> 00:05:28,920
If anyone hears and listens to and heeds my voice and opens the door, I will come into

90
00:05:28,920 --> 00:05:33,440
him and will eat with him and he will eat with me.

91
00:05:33,440 --> 00:05:37,800
Now when I got the Passion translation, I decided to add the next couple of verses.

92
00:05:37,800 --> 00:05:39,520
Philip, would you read that please?

93
00:05:39,520 --> 00:05:42,840
Behold, I'm standing at the door knocking.

94
00:05:42,840 --> 00:05:47,980
If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door within, I will come into

95
00:05:47,980 --> 00:05:52,160
you and feast with you and you will feast with me.

96
00:05:52,160 --> 00:05:57,600
And to the one who conquers, I will give the privilege of sitting with me on my throne,

97
00:05:57,600 --> 00:06:01,600
just as I conquered and sat down with my father on his throne.

98
00:06:01,600 --> 00:06:06,560
The one whose heart is open, let him listen carefully to what the Spirit is saying now

99
00:06:06,560 --> 00:06:08,320
to the churches.

100
00:06:08,320 --> 00:06:10,240
So I love that.

101
00:06:10,240 --> 00:06:11,240
That's good, isn't it?

102
00:06:11,240 --> 00:06:12,240
Yeah.

103
00:06:12,240 --> 00:06:17,840
The things that we glean from the Passion translation and they have amazing footnotes.

104
00:06:17,840 --> 00:06:22,040
So I just want to go back into that passage and read some of the footnotes because it

105
00:06:22,040 --> 00:06:25,280
will give us some deeper understanding.

106
00:06:25,280 --> 00:06:31,560
So where it says here, I'm standing at the door knocking, the footnote says, the Aramaic

107
00:06:31,560 --> 00:06:35,480
can be translated, I have been standing at the door knocking.

108
00:06:35,480 --> 00:06:43,120
Jesus knocking on the door points us to the process of an ancient Jewish wedding invitation.

109
00:06:43,120 --> 00:06:48,040
In the days of Jesus, a bridegroom and his father would come to the door of the bride

110
00:06:48,040 --> 00:06:53,520
to be carrying the betrothal cup of wine and the bride price.

111
00:06:53,520 --> 00:06:55,520
Standing outside, they would knock.

112
00:06:55,520 --> 00:07:00,000
If she fully opened the door, she was saying, yes, I will be your bride.

113
00:07:00,000 --> 00:07:04,520
Jesus and his father in the same way are knocking on the doors of our hearts, inviting us to

114
00:07:04,520 --> 00:07:06,000
be the bride of Christ.

115
00:07:06,000 --> 00:07:07,440
Isn't that beautiful?

116
00:07:07,440 --> 00:07:12,880
I remember seeing that as a video out there on the Galilee wedding.

117
00:07:12,880 --> 00:07:13,880
Yes.

118
00:07:13,880 --> 00:07:15,520
And it gives a whole new understanding.

119
00:07:15,520 --> 00:07:16,520
Yeah.

120
00:07:16,520 --> 00:07:21,760
Things that the 10 virgins, the five wise and the unwise.

121
00:07:21,760 --> 00:07:22,760
Right.

122
00:07:22,760 --> 00:07:26,520
And I don't know how you'd find that, but we'll see if we can find a link to put in

123
00:07:26,520 --> 00:07:27,520
the show notes.

124
00:07:27,520 --> 00:07:28,520
Yeah.

125
00:07:28,520 --> 00:07:30,760
It opens the door to what this really, really is.

126
00:07:30,760 --> 00:07:31,760
Yeah.

127
00:07:31,760 --> 00:07:35,600
It's about having a relationship with Jesus that we're going to live together.

128
00:07:35,600 --> 00:07:36,600
Yeah.

129
00:07:36,600 --> 00:07:37,600
That we're going to live together.

130
00:07:37,600 --> 00:07:38,600
We're going to eat together.

131
00:07:38,600 --> 00:07:39,760
We're going to do everything together.

132
00:07:39,760 --> 00:07:45,000
Now, the second footnote that I want to bring out is it says, if your heart is open to hear

133
00:07:45,000 --> 00:07:50,640
my voice and you open the door within, I will come into you and feast with you and you will

134
00:07:50,640 --> 00:07:52,120
feast with me.

135
00:07:52,120 --> 00:07:57,720
So the footnote here says, this is likely taken from the song of Solomon five, chapter

136
00:07:57,720 --> 00:08:02,680
five, verses one and two, where the King knocks on the door of the heart of the Shulamite

137
00:08:02,680 --> 00:08:05,320
longing to come in and feast with her.

138
00:08:05,320 --> 00:08:08,440
Remember that's probably where she's still in bed and she doesn't want to get out of

139
00:08:08,440 --> 00:08:09,440
bed.

140
00:08:09,440 --> 00:08:10,440
Yeah.

141
00:08:10,440 --> 00:08:11,440
Yeah.

142
00:08:11,440 --> 00:08:17,760
Sometimes we're just too fleshly to respond to the call of the King.

143
00:08:17,760 --> 00:08:23,760
And this is part of what this podcast is about is learning to listen to his voice, learning

144
00:08:23,760 --> 00:08:24,760
to yearn.

145
00:08:24,760 --> 00:08:25,760
Yeah.

146
00:08:25,760 --> 00:08:30,320
And that we're longing for him, that we're hungry for him, that we want to eat with him,

147
00:08:30,320 --> 00:08:32,320
that we want to live with him.

148
00:08:32,320 --> 00:08:33,320
Yes.

149
00:08:33,320 --> 00:08:38,880
So the third footnote I want to read is from verse 21 and to the one who conquers, I will

150
00:08:38,880 --> 00:08:43,680
give the privilege of sitting with me on my throne, each of the seven churches.

151
00:08:43,680 --> 00:08:48,160
So this is the church of Laodicea that Jesus is writing to through John in the book of

152
00:08:48,160 --> 00:08:49,520
Revelation.

153
00:08:49,520 --> 00:08:54,880
He's already written to the book of Ephesus and Smyrna and all the other six churches

154
00:08:54,880 --> 00:08:57,680
right before this one is the church of Philadelphia.

155
00:08:57,680 --> 00:09:02,760
But it says each of the seven churches is given a wonderful promise to the one who conquers

156
00:09:02,760 --> 00:09:05,760
or overcomes or is victorious.

157
00:09:05,760 --> 00:09:12,420
The Greek verb tense in each of the seven instances is one who continually, repeatedly

158
00:09:12,420 --> 00:09:14,400
and habitually conquers.

159
00:09:14,400 --> 00:09:15,400
Wow.

160
00:09:15,400 --> 00:09:16,400
Wow.

161
00:09:16,400 --> 00:09:17,720
That's walking with God.

162
00:09:17,720 --> 00:09:21,120
That reminds me of our episode recently about walking with God.

163
00:09:21,120 --> 00:09:22,120
Habitually.

164
00:09:22,120 --> 00:09:23,120
Habitually.

165
00:09:23,120 --> 00:09:24,120
Habit.

166
00:09:24,120 --> 00:09:25,120
Habit.

167
00:09:25,120 --> 00:09:26,120
Habit.

168
00:09:26,120 --> 00:09:27,120
Yes.

169
00:09:27,120 --> 00:09:31,720
The seven churches, continuing with the footnote, the seven churches at seven locations indicates

170
00:09:31,720 --> 00:09:36,240
that believers are at that stage in their growth as overcomers.

171
00:09:36,240 --> 00:09:41,320
Now I'm not going to take time to read all of the other ones, but if you have a Passion

172
00:09:41,320 --> 00:09:45,600
Translation, you can read the footnote yourself that goes into all those details.

173
00:09:45,600 --> 00:09:50,600
If you don't have it, go to Lifebible.com.

174
00:09:50,600 --> 00:09:56,840
Lifebible.com has many different translations that you can read from, and the Passion Translation

175
00:09:56,840 --> 00:09:57,840
is one of them.

176
00:09:57,840 --> 00:10:03,120
And the thing I love about this app is that you can also have it read to you.

177
00:10:03,120 --> 00:10:08,120
There's a British man's voice that even though this is a computer generated voice, it does

178
00:10:08,120 --> 00:10:09,280
a pretty good job.

179
00:10:09,280 --> 00:10:12,480
So you can listen to the Passion Translation there too.

180
00:10:12,480 --> 00:10:17,280
So what I wanted to add about this footnote, because I'm not going to take time about all

181
00:10:17,280 --> 00:10:23,280
the other churches, but what it says about Laodicea, Laodicea means people's rights.

182
00:10:23,280 --> 00:10:28,480
So it's really all about surrendering our rights to Him.

183
00:10:28,480 --> 00:10:32,720
This is almost like the third installment of give your body to God.

184
00:10:32,720 --> 00:10:37,280
I didn't really want to call it part three because I didn't want it to be too much of

185
00:10:37,280 --> 00:10:43,720
a series, but I think there's some things that we really need to focus on, things that

186
00:10:43,720 --> 00:10:48,360
I wanted to focus on on the other two parts, but didn't get around to it.

187
00:10:48,360 --> 00:10:55,760
And I just felt like we were not quite complete because maybe, maybe some of our listeners,

188
00:10:55,760 --> 00:11:01,280
maybe you, maybe the Holy Spirit is convicting you about your lifestyle, but you don't know

189
00:11:01,280 --> 00:11:02,960
where to start.

190
00:11:02,960 --> 00:11:10,340
I know that it's been convicting for me and I've been trying to eat healthy pretty much

191
00:11:10,340 --> 00:11:11,340
all my life.

192
00:11:11,340 --> 00:11:16,760
I remember when I was 18, the first health food store came to our town.

193
00:11:16,760 --> 00:11:22,440
It's a long time ago, but I went in there and I'm thinking, what is health food?

194
00:11:22,440 --> 00:11:23,440
What is this stuff?

195
00:11:23,440 --> 00:11:28,560
And I bought something that tasted a little bit like cardboard, but I made up my mind.

196
00:11:28,560 --> 00:11:29,560
It's good for me.

197
00:11:29,560 --> 00:11:30,560
I'm going to eat it.

198
00:11:30,560 --> 00:11:33,920
If it's good for me, I'm going to choose to like it.

199
00:11:33,920 --> 00:11:38,600
And it was like an inner vow that I have lived with all of my life.

200
00:11:38,600 --> 00:11:41,780
And it's really helped me like you get on the mission field and you're offered some

201
00:11:41,780 --> 00:11:48,120
things to eat that, well, they might not even be good for you, but you kind of have to eat

202
00:11:48,120 --> 00:11:52,080
some things that people are offering you.

203
00:11:52,080 --> 00:11:57,740
Have you ever noticed that when you ask someone to bring you something to eat, they will bring

204
00:11:57,740 --> 00:12:01,160
you something that they like?

205
00:12:01,160 --> 00:12:02,620
It's fascinating to me.

206
00:12:02,620 --> 00:12:05,360
They never pay attention to what you like.

207
00:12:05,360 --> 00:12:06,600
And I'll just say it this way.

208
00:12:06,600 --> 00:12:12,080
I remember Philip one time when we used to eat all of our meals together with our whole

209
00:12:12,080 --> 00:12:13,760
Christian community.

210
00:12:13,760 --> 00:12:16,840
We don't have a cook right now, so we're not able to do that.

211
00:12:16,840 --> 00:12:22,400
But I remember one time I was going through to get you a salad and I'm thinking, I have

212
00:12:22,400 --> 00:12:27,160
never paid attention to what he puts on his salad.

213
00:12:27,160 --> 00:12:29,080
You're right beside me in the line.

214
00:12:29,080 --> 00:12:33,360
And all I'm thinking about is what do I want in my salad?

215
00:12:33,360 --> 00:12:35,960
So I'm not saying that because everybody else does this.

216
00:12:35,960 --> 00:12:39,000
I'm saying it because I did it.

217
00:12:39,000 --> 00:12:40,200
But I remember that moment.

218
00:12:40,200 --> 00:12:43,560
It was like, I don't even know what he wants on his salad.

219
00:12:43,560 --> 00:12:45,120
We've been married for years.

220
00:12:45,120 --> 00:12:46,120
How weird.

221
00:12:46,120 --> 00:12:55,000
Anyway, my point is this, that our Father wants to be integrated into every part of

222
00:12:55,000 --> 00:12:59,360
our lives, every single detail.

223
00:12:59,360 --> 00:13:02,440
He designed us to work with him.

224
00:13:02,440 --> 00:13:10,040
He designed us with a place for me and a place for you in him.

225
00:13:10,040 --> 00:13:14,520
And he designed you and me with a place for him in us.

226
00:13:14,520 --> 00:13:21,600
That if you really, really want everything to go right, you need to get that piece right

227
00:13:21,600 --> 00:13:25,980
where we let him have the preeminence.

228
00:13:25,980 --> 00:13:31,480
He is the Almighty God, the Almighty God.

229
00:13:31,480 --> 00:13:33,800
The Almighty God.

230
00:13:33,800 --> 00:13:36,040
He's everything.

231
00:13:36,040 --> 00:13:37,800
Everything comes from him.

232
00:13:37,800 --> 00:13:42,880
And he designed us that he would be involved in all of the details of our lives.

233
00:13:42,880 --> 00:13:46,300
He knows how many hairs we have on our heads.

234
00:13:46,300 --> 00:13:50,540
He knows how many trillions of cells we have in our bodies.

235
00:13:50,540 --> 00:13:54,780
And he is intimately aware of every detail of our lives.

236
00:13:54,780 --> 00:14:03,200
But he longs to work with us and help us to do things his way.

237
00:14:03,200 --> 00:14:09,460
Like as I said, I've been eating really healthy all my life, pretty much.

238
00:14:09,460 --> 00:14:13,760
But I haven't always let him make the choices.

239
00:14:13,760 --> 00:14:15,600
You know what I mean?

240
00:14:15,600 --> 00:14:17,400
So here's some starters.

241
00:14:17,400 --> 00:14:22,440
All right, listener, because Philip and I have both been, you were raised on health

242
00:14:22,440 --> 00:14:23,440
food.

243
00:14:23,440 --> 00:14:24,440
Tell us a little about that.

244
00:14:24,440 --> 00:14:29,960
I remember as a kid, you know, I was embarrassed to have friends over for like Saturday morning

245
00:14:29,960 --> 00:14:35,160
if they spent the night and mom would make these hockey puck pancakes, you know, because

246
00:14:35,160 --> 00:14:41,800
they used 100% whole wheat, you know, no white flour, you know, and then it's kind of stiff

247
00:14:41,800 --> 00:14:47,160
and all that, you know, and like, oh, wow, you know, that was embarrassing.

248
00:14:47,160 --> 00:14:53,000
And even when I go to school, you know, sometimes people would trade their sandwiches or something.

249
00:14:53,000 --> 00:14:57,880
But I'd always have this real healthy dark bread and, you know, old fashioned peanut

250
00:14:57,880 --> 00:14:58,880
butter.

251
00:14:58,880 --> 00:14:59,880
It's the kind you have to stir.

252
00:14:59,880 --> 00:15:03,640
It's the best kind for you because there's no, what do you call it?

253
00:15:03,640 --> 00:15:04,640
hydrogenated oils.

254
00:15:04,640 --> 00:15:07,400
No hydrogenated oils in it and all that.

255
00:15:07,400 --> 00:15:09,880
So it's a whole lot better for you.

256
00:15:09,880 --> 00:15:12,360
And nobody wanted my sandwich.

257
00:15:12,360 --> 00:15:16,920
But I did discover, you know, because I remember back, you get these little half pint or a

258
00:15:16,920 --> 00:15:21,880
full pint of milk or chocolate milk and always chose the chocolate milk.

259
00:15:21,880 --> 00:15:26,900
And I can never finish my sandwich until I found out one day it's because I was drinking

260
00:15:26,900 --> 00:15:27,900
chocolate milk.

261
00:15:27,900 --> 00:15:33,440
You know, and then when I quit drinking that and you started drinking regular milk, I could

262
00:15:33,440 --> 00:15:38,440
finish the whole sandwich because of the sugar in the chocolate milk.

263
00:15:38,440 --> 00:15:39,440
Yeah.

264
00:15:39,440 --> 00:15:41,840
It would make your blood sugar go up and you would lose your appetite.

265
00:15:41,840 --> 00:15:42,840
Yeah.

266
00:15:42,840 --> 00:15:44,960
But it's empty carbs, empty carbs.

267
00:15:44,960 --> 00:15:45,960
Yeah.

268
00:15:45,960 --> 00:15:49,440
Well, let's talk about sugar for a minute because we all love it.

269
00:15:49,440 --> 00:15:50,440
Yeah.

270
00:15:50,440 --> 00:15:54,320
Why does it make everything taste so good?

271
00:15:54,320 --> 00:15:55,880
We've been programmed that way.

272
00:15:55,880 --> 00:16:01,880
I remember meeting a guy that was so into healthy eating that he had never introduced

273
00:16:01,880 --> 00:16:04,360
his son to sugar.

274
00:16:04,360 --> 00:16:08,080
His son had never had anything that had sugar in it ever.

275
00:16:08,080 --> 00:16:14,640
So he's old enough now to go over to the neighbor's house and play with the neighbor kid.

276
00:16:14,640 --> 00:16:15,640
Right.

277
00:16:15,640 --> 00:16:18,560
And the neighbor kid offers him some candy.

278
00:16:18,560 --> 00:16:22,520
And he sticks it in his mouth and he immediately takes it out of his mouth.

279
00:16:22,520 --> 00:16:24,520
He says, this is burning my mouth.

280
00:16:24,520 --> 00:16:25,520
Oh, wow.

281
00:16:25,520 --> 00:16:27,520
Because he never tasted it before.

282
00:16:27,520 --> 00:16:29,160
He wasn't accustomed to it.

283
00:16:29,160 --> 00:16:30,160
Wow.

284
00:16:30,160 --> 00:16:36,600
So, you know, we've been hoodwinked kind of, you know, our society has been just drawn

285
00:16:36,600 --> 00:16:38,760
into a deception that this is good.

286
00:16:38,760 --> 00:16:42,520
It tastes good, but it isn't good for you.

287
00:16:42,520 --> 00:16:45,040
It only tastes good because you've gotten accustomed to it.

288
00:16:45,040 --> 00:16:46,040
Right.

289
00:16:46,040 --> 00:16:47,040
Yeah.

290
00:16:47,040 --> 00:16:48,800
And you tell your doughnut story.

291
00:16:48,800 --> 00:16:51,720
Oh, that's so good.

292
00:16:51,720 --> 00:16:52,720
OK.

293
00:16:52,720 --> 00:16:59,440
So at one point, Philip and I went on a completely vegetarian diet.

294
00:16:59,440 --> 00:17:02,200
We were really going to be healthy.

295
00:17:02,200 --> 00:17:03,200
Right.

296
00:17:03,200 --> 00:17:06,880
And that's what was introduced to us as the healthy thing to do.

297
00:17:06,880 --> 00:17:11,040
So we were on this real straightforward vegetarian.

298
00:17:11,040 --> 00:17:13,500
It wasn't vegan, but it was vegetarian.

299
00:17:13,500 --> 00:17:16,160
And after we had been on it for some months.

300
00:17:16,160 --> 00:17:20,840
Now, our founder, Sister Gwen Shaw, she had a...

301
00:17:20,840 --> 00:17:21,840
On restrict.

302
00:17:21,840 --> 00:17:23,880
Oh, I guess you could say on restrict.

303
00:17:23,880 --> 00:17:24,880
She was.

304
00:17:24,880 --> 00:17:26,200
Yeah, that's a good way to say it.

305
00:17:26,200 --> 00:17:27,600
We'll just leave it there.

306
00:17:27,600 --> 00:17:33,920
So somebody had brought her a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts that she loved.

307
00:17:33,920 --> 00:17:34,920
She loved them.

308
00:17:34,920 --> 00:17:38,780
One of my least favorite.

309
00:17:38,780 --> 00:17:43,880
And so I happened to come into her house and here's all these ladies sitting around the

310
00:17:43,880 --> 00:17:46,960
table enjoying Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

311
00:17:46,960 --> 00:17:52,080
And Sister Gwen says to me, Sharon, have a doughnut.

312
00:17:52,080 --> 00:17:55,180
And the way she said it, it was like, this is an order.

313
00:17:55,180 --> 00:17:57,620
Can you do it?

314
00:17:57,620 --> 00:18:02,140
So I thought, OK, I'll just obey orders and see how it goes, because it's not going to

315
00:18:02,140 --> 00:18:03,800
kill me, you know?

316
00:18:03,800 --> 00:18:07,940
But it was definitely not on the diet that we had been on.

317
00:18:07,940 --> 00:18:14,240
And I took one bite and it was like, mmm, like, man, I haven't had one of these in a

318
00:18:14,240 --> 00:18:16,080
really long time.

319
00:18:16,080 --> 00:18:17,080
I've missed this.

320
00:18:17,080 --> 00:18:22,280
I don't know if I was really thinking I missed this, but it was like, this is a flavor that,

321
00:18:22,280 --> 00:18:24,720
mmm, this is good.

322
00:18:24,720 --> 00:18:30,520
And then I took the second bite and it was like, eh, maybe not quite so good.

323
00:18:30,520 --> 00:18:31,920
Were you having coffee with it?

324
00:18:31,920 --> 00:18:33,240
No, I wasn't having coffee.

325
00:18:33,240 --> 00:18:35,240
That would have helped.

326
00:18:35,240 --> 00:18:36,240
Maybe so.

327
00:18:36,240 --> 00:18:41,560
Something about coffee and a good cake doughnut.

328
00:18:41,560 --> 00:18:42,560
These are the yeast doughnuts.

329
00:18:42,560 --> 00:18:43,560
These are those yeasts, yeah.

330
00:18:43,560 --> 00:18:44,560
You don't like those, but I do.

331
00:18:44,560 --> 00:18:47,720
Well, I mean, I'll eat one, but I'll rather have the other.

332
00:18:47,720 --> 00:18:54,480
So by the time I got to the third bite, I'm thinking, what did I ever see in this?

333
00:18:54,480 --> 00:18:57,200
Because it was so out of my system.

334
00:18:57,200 --> 00:19:03,560
And even today, if I'm at some kind of a smorgasbord, kind of a place where you can eat all you

335
00:19:03,560 --> 00:19:09,360
want of all the different things they have to offer you, I might take a teaspoon of a

336
00:19:09,360 --> 00:19:11,800
few of the desserts just to taste them.

337
00:19:11,800 --> 00:19:15,880
But I could never eat like a whole piece of pie or cake or something.

338
00:19:15,880 --> 00:19:19,760
It's like, I'm just not this good in that department.

339
00:19:19,760 --> 00:19:20,760
Something about cheesecake.

340
00:19:20,760 --> 00:19:23,200
Well, I know you love cheesecake.

341
00:19:23,200 --> 00:19:24,200
Carrot cake.

342
00:19:24,200 --> 00:19:26,440
Yeah, those are tasty.

343
00:19:26,440 --> 00:19:28,360
But remember a few months ago.

344
00:19:28,360 --> 00:19:35,800
Yeah, well, we started carnivore and it was June of last year, I think it was.

345
00:19:35,800 --> 00:19:36,800
Yeah.

346
00:19:36,800 --> 00:19:39,080
So we did carnivore all winter long.

347
00:19:39,080 --> 00:19:44,240
It didn't have a sore throat, a runny nose, a cough.

348
00:19:44,240 --> 00:19:49,240
People around us were dealing with all kinds of stuff and neither one of us, you know,

349
00:19:49,240 --> 00:19:51,240
just eating carnivore.

350
00:19:51,240 --> 00:19:52,240
Didn't get sick at all.

351
00:19:52,240 --> 00:19:56,520
Which is that's just all meat products or all animal products, animal products, you

352
00:19:56,520 --> 00:20:01,080
know, eggs, eggs are great, you know, cheese, just not too much maybe.

353
00:20:01,080 --> 00:20:05,840
But yeah, so it was a celebration, somebody's birthday, I think.

354
00:20:05,840 --> 00:20:07,440
And I had a piece of carrot cake.

355
00:20:07,440 --> 00:20:10,200
I was a big one with ice cream.

356
00:20:10,200 --> 00:20:11,600
And then we were having guests that night.

357
00:20:11,600 --> 00:20:13,480
So they sent extra cake home with us.

358
00:20:13,480 --> 00:20:15,040
Yeah, I remember I preached that night.

359
00:20:15,040 --> 00:20:16,400
I remember that.

360
00:20:16,400 --> 00:20:18,360
And then I had an extra piece of that.

361
00:20:18,360 --> 00:20:21,920
So I had two big pieces, a lot of sugar and all that.

362
00:20:21,920 --> 00:20:23,800
Yeah, I think it was actually Hawaiian wedding cake.

363
00:20:23,800 --> 00:20:24,800
Yeah, Hawaiian wedding.

364
00:20:24,800 --> 00:20:25,800
Yeah.

365
00:20:25,800 --> 00:20:26,800
Hawaiian wedding cake.

366
00:20:26,800 --> 00:20:27,800
Oh, man.

367
00:20:27,800 --> 00:20:34,760
And the next day, I woke up feeling just a little strange, you know, just a little funny.

368
00:20:34,760 --> 00:20:37,400
But then we had to go down outside, do some work.

369
00:20:37,400 --> 00:20:42,800
And I came back and I started taking some vitamin C and some oregano, but it was too

370
00:20:42,800 --> 00:20:43,800
late.

371
00:20:43,800 --> 00:20:45,260
My system had already been compromised.

372
00:20:45,260 --> 00:20:47,360
And I came down with a...

373
00:20:47,360 --> 00:20:48,360
Some kind of respiratory thing.

374
00:20:48,360 --> 00:20:54,520
Well, the respiratory thing that because the sugar just, it weakens your immune system

375
00:20:54,520 --> 00:20:59,760
and people that are repeatedly, you know, having problems, sore throat, sick, runny

376
00:20:59,760 --> 00:21:04,240
nose, things like that, especially in a household of kids and stuff.

377
00:21:04,240 --> 00:21:05,240
Right.

378
00:21:05,240 --> 00:21:09,080
You know, the sugar will run your resistance down faster than anything else.

379
00:21:09,080 --> 00:21:10,080
It's true.

380
00:21:10,080 --> 00:21:14,760
Even if you're taking nutritional stuff, too much sugar, your body has to get dumped

381
00:21:14,760 --> 00:21:15,760
it out.

382
00:21:15,760 --> 00:21:16,760
And that's one way it does it.

383
00:21:16,760 --> 00:21:17,760
Yeah.

384
00:21:17,760 --> 00:21:27,320
And if you have a regular Western or American diet that is if you're eating processed foods,

385
00:21:27,320 --> 00:21:33,000
you know, what they do to make processed foods is they take out the nutrients that would

386
00:21:33,000 --> 00:21:36,160
cause the food to spoil.

387
00:21:36,160 --> 00:21:39,960
What they're trying to do is increase the shelf life so that they can make more money

388
00:21:39,960 --> 00:21:41,200
off of it.

389
00:21:41,200 --> 00:21:42,200
Okay.

390
00:21:42,200 --> 00:21:46,600
The longer it sits on the shelf, the more opportunity there is for people to buy it.

391
00:21:46,600 --> 00:21:51,160
So if it has a longer shelf life, you're going to make more money off of that.

392
00:21:51,160 --> 00:21:55,440
So they take the nutrients out, then they enrich the flour.

393
00:21:55,440 --> 00:21:56,440
Okay.

394
00:21:56,440 --> 00:21:59,720
They take the nutrients out and then they put some artificial ones back in.

395
00:21:59,720 --> 00:22:00,720
Yeah.

396
00:22:00,720 --> 00:22:07,960
And then there's this thing called hydrogenated oils where they shoot the oils full of hydrogen

397
00:22:07,960 --> 00:22:10,720
or partially hydrogenated oils.

398
00:22:10,720 --> 00:22:12,720
Especially in, look at your peanut butters.

399
00:22:12,720 --> 00:22:13,720
Yeah.

400
00:22:13,720 --> 00:22:14,720
And your vegetable oils.

401
00:22:14,720 --> 00:22:15,720
Vegetable oils.

402
00:22:15,720 --> 00:22:17,280
And they hydrogenate them.

403
00:22:17,280 --> 00:22:20,280
What that does is it increases the volume of the oil.

404
00:22:20,280 --> 00:22:25,000
And it changes the molecular structure of it and your body has a hard time dealing with

405
00:22:25,000 --> 00:22:26,000
it.

406
00:22:26,000 --> 00:22:27,000
Yeah.

407
00:22:27,000 --> 00:22:32,920
So by increasing the volume, by shooting hydrogen into it, you can sell more of less of the

408
00:22:32,920 --> 00:22:33,920
product.

409
00:22:33,920 --> 00:22:38,080
I mean, you start out with a smaller amount of product, you shoot it full of hydrogen

410
00:22:38,080 --> 00:22:41,720
and that increases the volume of the product so you can make more money.

411
00:22:41,720 --> 00:22:48,360
You know, America is the, we have the most medical equipment of any country in the world

412
00:22:48,360 --> 00:22:51,680
and we're the sickest nation on the face of the earth.

413
00:22:51,680 --> 00:22:55,600
Per Kappa, Americans are sicker than anybody else and why?

414
00:22:55,600 --> 00:23:00,280
It has to do a lot, not entirely, but a lot of it has to do with our food.

415
00:23:00,280 --> 00:23:01,280
Food.

416
00:23:01,280 --> 00:23:08,320
So if we're really given our body to God, we need to ask the Holy Spirit, what do you

417
00:23:08,320 --> 00:23:09,440
want me to eat?

418
00:23:09,440 --> 00:23:10,840
Yeah, that's good.

419
00:23:10,840 --> 00:23:14,820
Now I started to say earlier about there's a plant-based diet.

420
00:23:14,820 --> 00:23:16,900
Now we've got a carnivore diet.

421
00:23:16,900 --> 00:23:21,840
There's somewhere in between with a keto diet where you decrease your carbohydrates, which

422
00:23:21,840 --> 00:23:23,760
is what turns into sugar in your body.

423
00:23:23,760 --> 00:23:25,280
And that's something I never knew.

424
00:23:25,280 --> 00:23:29,080
You look at label sugars, okay, but carbohydrates, okay.

425
00:23:29,080 --> 00:23:30,080
Yeah.

426
00:23:30,080 --> 00:23:32,480
But not realizing they turn to sugars in your body.

427
00:23:32,480 --> 00:23:33,480
Exactly.

428
00:23:33,480 --> 00:23:35,080
They turn into sugars in your bloodstream.

429
00:23:35,080 --> 00:23:40,560
And remember in our last episode, we talked about the mitochondria that are producing

430
00:23:40,560 --> 00:23:48,600
the fuel for our bodies and one molecule of sugar produces two of this molecule of ATP,

431
00:23:48,600 --> 00:23:50,420
which is our fuel.

432
00:23:50,420 --> 00:23:57,240
But if you have one molecule of fat, it will produce something like a hundred to 120 molecules

433
00:23:57,240 --> 00:24:01,120
of ATP, which is what your body needs to run on.

434
00:24:01,120 --> 00:24:07,520
So a lot of our foods, we've been told that fat is bad for us because fat will make you

435
00:24:07,520 --> 00:24:08,520
fat, but it's not true.

436
00:24:08,520 --> 00:24:09,620
It's not true.

437
00:24:09,620 --> 00:24:16,000
If you look back at previous generations, they ate all the fat they wanted to, but they

438
00:24:16,000 --> 00:24:17,000
didn't.

439
00:24:17,000 --> 00:24:18,000
Especially on a farm.

440
00:24:18,000 --> 00:24:19,000
Yeah.

441
00:24:19,000 --> 00:24:23,000
But they didn't have all these processed foods that were full of carbohydrates and sugars.

442
00:24:23,000 --> 00:24:30,560
You know, carbohydrates, to simplify, carbohydrates are the things like starches, like rice and

443
00:24:30,560 --> 00:24:31,560
potatoes.

444
00:24:31,560 --> 00:24:32,560
Yes.

445
00:24:32,560 --> 00:24:34,760
Now, if you're going to eat a baked potato.

446
00:24:34,760 --> 00:24:36,080
Eat a sweet potato, right?

447
00:24:36,080 --> 00:24:39,000
A sweet potato is actually better for you than a baked potato.

448
00:24:39,000 --> 00:24:46,040
But if you want to eat a baked potato, just pile the butter and the sour cream on it.

449
00:24:46,040 --> 00:24:48,480
Make sure that it's good butter and good sour cream.

450
00:24:48,480 --> 00:24:50,360
Don't use margarine.

451
00:24:50,360 --> 00:24:55,120
Margarine has fats in it that are not natural to the body.

452
00:24:55,120 --> 00:24:57,320
They're not natural to the animal kingdom.

453
00:24:57,320 --> 00:24:59,520
So our bodies don't know what to do with it.

454
00:24:59,520 --> 00:25:01,720
We were told margarine is better for you.

455
00:25:01,720 --> 00:25:03,800
We were told, don't eat fat.

456
00:25:03,800 --> 00:25:04,800
It's bad for you.

457
00:25:04,800 --> 00:25:10,840
You're substituting all of these chemically created things to substitute for fat, which

458
00:25:10,840 --> 00:25:12,320
our bodies don't know what to do with.

459
00:25:12,320 --> 00:25:15,160
And you know, because last summer I was having a lot of brain fog.

460
00:25:15,160 --> 00:25:20,800
I mean, we were spending a couple hundred dollars a month more maybe on nutritionals.

461
00:25:20,800 --> 00:25:22,840
Yeah, like supplements.

462
00:25:22,840 --> 00:25:25,960
Supplements made out of this and that fruit.

463
00:25:25,960 --> 00:25:26,960
But good stuff.

464
00:25:26,960 --> 00:25:27,960
Yeah, it was good.

465
00:25:27,960 --> 00:25:28,960
The good stuff.

466
00:25:28,960 --> 00:25:32,800
I was having all kinds of memory issues and I could feel it.

467
00:25:32,800 --> 00:25:37,840
You know, like you can't remember it and it's just like, what do I have to take to get my

468
00:25:37,840 --> 00:25:40,320
brain back in?

469
00:25:40,320 --> 00:25:44,360
And I was having a lot of extra dizzy stuff since, you know, I had a wreck.

470
00:25:44,360 --> 00:25:50,040
I deal with some balance stuff, but I was having more and more even in my brain.

471
00:25:50,040 --> 00:25:54,760
It's just like my eyes would lose their focus and I could feel it in my brain.

472
00:25:54,760 --> 00:26:00,200
I mean, I could actually feel it in the front of my brain when my eyes would start to lose

473
00:26:00,200 --> 00:26:01,200
focus.

474
00:26:01,200 --> 00:26:06,800
And all at once I just dropped to the floor, you know, had me a chair there because I just

475
00:26:06,800 --> 00:26:08,760
totally lost balance.

476
00:26:08,760 --> 00:26:11,560
It wasn't like I got a little dizzy and fell down.

477
00:26:11,560 --> 00:26:16,080
I mean, I just totally lost balance standing there and I just flopped.

478
00:26:16,080 --> 00:26:17,920
It was scary.

479
00:26:17,920 --> 00:26:21,560
And when we started, you know, reading up, we looked at hours of, you know, the carnivore

480
00:26:21,560 --> 00:26:27,760
diet on YouTube, because I'm, you know, desperate to what am I going to do here?

481
00:26:27,760 --> 00:26:32,400
And what I saw in people that went on this, some of the main things was they got rid of

482
00:26:32,400 --> 00:26:33,400
anxiety.

483
00:26:33,400 --> 00:26:40,200
They got rid of depression, brain issues, you know, all the stuff you do with your brain,

484
00:26:40,200 --> 00:26:43,320
Alzheimer's, you know, what happens in Alzheimer's?

485
00:26:43,320 --> 00:26:50,000
Your brain shrinks because it doesn't have fat because we've been told the last 60 years

486
00:26:50,000 --> 00:26:51,000
stay off of fat.

487
00:26:51,000 --> 00:26:55,160
You got your low fat, this low fat yogurt, low fat, that and all that.

488
00:26:55,160 --> 00:27:00,360
So we started in the carnivore, eating a lot of fat, eating a lot of butter, all that.

489
00:27:00,360 --> 00:27:03,320
And all my extra dizziness stuff went away.

490
00:27:03,320 --> 00:27:09,120
I got my brain, my thinking back and I went on to take my ham radio tests.

491
00:27:09,120 --> 00:27:11,640
I did my amateur and then I did a general.

492
00:27:11,640 --> 00:27:14,920
That's your first two classes of her.

493
00:27:14,920 --> 00:27:19,960
And you know, each test pool has like 400 questions in each one.

494
00:27:19,960 --> 00:27:24,560
And then the week for the test, I was looking at 800 questions a day, you know, and they

495
00:27:24,560 --> 00:27:26,640
picked 35 out of each one.

496
00:27:26,640 --> 00:27:28,680
You know, and I did the test.

497
00:27:28,680 --> 00:27:32,720
I missed four on the first test and three on the second one.

498
00:27:32,720 --> 00:27:36,520
I never could have done that the way my brain was.

499
00:27:36,520 --> 00:27:37,520
So fat works.

500
00:27:37,520 --> 00:27:42,800
We're not here trying to push something, you know, but we're just telling you our experience

501
00:27:42,800 --> 00:27:48,320
because what we've seen with people on our own staff when they went on carnivore, especially

502
00:27:48,320 --> 00:27:50,680
if you're dealing with sugar issues.

503
00:27:50,680 --> 00:27:51,680
Like diabetes.

504
00:27:51,680 --> 00:27:52,680
Diabetes.

505
00:27:52,680 --> 00:27:57,640
It's called the sugar, even see with our grandkids, you know, they're like, they gotta have sugar

506
00:27:57,640 --> 00:27:59,680
and what you're doing.

507
00:27:59,680 --> 00:28:04,760
You're burning your pancreas out early because you're overworking it, you know, all the time

508
00:28:04,760 --> 00:28:05,960
trying to produce too much insulin.

509
00:28:05,960 --> 00:28:06,960
Yeah.

510
00:28:06,960 --> 00:28:07,960
Our body wasn't designed for that.

511
00:28:07,960 --> 00:28:08,960
Right.

512
00:28:08,960 --> 00:28:10,080
And so what happens when it burns out?

513
00:28:10,080 --> 00:28:12,560
You have to take the artificial stuff, right?

514
00:28:12,560 --> 00:28:14,280
But that only works for a while.

515
00:28:14,280 --> 00:28:15,280
Yeah.

516
00:28:15,280 --> 00:28:20,760
Well, the bottom line is let's just roll it back to have dinner with Jesus.

517
00:28:20,760 --> 00:28:21,760
Yeah.

518
00:28:21,760 --> 00:28:24,040
What does Jesus want to eat?

519
00:28:24,040 --> 00:28:26,800
Because he lives in your temple.

520
00:28:26,800 --> 00:28:31,480
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, which I mean, it's Jesus, it's the Holy Spirit,

521
00:28:31,480 --> 00:28:32,480
it's the father.

522
00:28:32,480 --> 00:28:35,200
All three of them are living inside of you because they're one.

523
00:28:35,200 --> 00:28:41,800
So if you want to start doing something to improve your diet, first of all, you have

524
00:28:41,800 --> 00:28:46,000
to think in terms of this is a lifestyle change.

525
00:28:46,000 --> 00:28:49,920
Like people go on a diet and lose weight, but then they go back to their way of eating.

526
00:28:49,920 --> 00:28:50,920
Yeah.

527
00:28:50,920 --> 00:28:52,880
And if you're going to do the same old way of eating, you're going to put all that same

528
00:28:52,880 --> 00:28:54,960
weight back on and probably more.

529
00:28:54,960 --> 00:28:55,960
Yeah.

530
00:28:55,960 --> 00:28:59,720
And the one thing that I just want to put in one more plug for a carnivore, the thing

531
00:28:59,720 --> 00:29:07,520
that I love is that you eat until you're comfortably full and then you don't eat until you're hungry.

532
00:29:07,520 --> 00:29:10,120
So it's not about portion control.

533
00:29:10,120 --> 00:29:14,440
Eat till you're comfortably full, comfortably stuffed, I think they even say.

534
00:29:14,440 --> 00:29:17,560
And if you're dealing with low blood sugar, that's what you had.

535
00:29:17,560 --> 00:29:20,360
I had to eat like every two and a half hours.

536
00:29:20,360 --> 00:29:21,360
Yes.

537
00:29:21,360 --> 00:29:25,680
And lots of times I would eat a whole plate full of food and get up from the table and

538
00:29:25,680 --> 00:29:27,640
I'm still hungry.

539
00:29:27,640 --> 00:29:33,400
But when I get up from the table after eating this dense nutrition of meat and fat, I'm

540
00:29:33,400 --> 00:29:38,120
satisfied and I don't want to eat until I'm hungry again.

541
00:29:38,120 --> 00:29:39,120
It's wonderful.

542
00:29:39,120 --> 00:29:40,120
It's amazing.

543
00:29:40,120 --> 00:29:41,120
And it's not portion control.

544
00:29:41,120 --> 00:29:44,840
So you don't have to feel like, oh, I can only eat this much and I have to wait for

545
00:29:44,840 --> 00:29:45,840
another so many hours.

546
00:29:45,840 --> 00:29:46,840
Eat till you feel good.

547
00:29:46,840 --> 00:29:47,840
It's the most amazing thing.

548
00:29:47,840 --> 00:29:51,840
Even egg, you know, we do our eggs in the morning, we'll do three eggs with a lot of

549
00:29:51,840 --> 00:29:54,440
butter and we do neat things with eggs.

550
00:29:54,440 --> 00:29:59,920
You know, we use curry, cumin powder, we use rosemary and za'atar, which is hyssop.

551
00:29:59,920 --> 00:30:02,720
You get that from Israel and experiment.

552
00:30:02,720 --> 00:30:03,720
So they're not boring.

553
00:30:03,720 --> 00:30:07,960
But so three eggs and I put three big slabs of butter on it.

554
00:30:07,960 --> 00:30:10,920
You know, and now when you say slabs, it's not like a whole stick.

555
00:30:10,920 --> 00:30:11,920
No, no, no.

556
00:30:11,920 --> 00:30:15,520
But you know, the better part of a tablespoon, not quite a whole tablespoon, maybe.

557
00:30:15,520 --> 00:30:16,520
Yeah.

558
00:30:16,520 --> 00:30:18,400
And then I put some olive oil too.

559
00:30:18,400 --> 00:30:21,720
And that carries me over about five hours, four to five hours.

560
00:30:21,720 --> 00:30:22,720
It's wonderful.

561
00:30:22,720 --> 00:30:23,720
Yeah.

562
00:30:23,720 --> 00:30:24,720
It's wonderful.

563
00:30:24,720 --> 00:30:25,720
And lose weight.

564
00:30:25,720 --> 00:30:26,720
Yeah, Philip lost all kinds of weight.

565
00:30:26,720 --> 00:30:28,520
I've kept my weight down.

566
00:30:28,520 --> 00:30:33,760
Not that I've had to, but it's just my body is, it just likes what I'm doing.

567
00:30:33,760 --> 00:30:35,720
You've got more energy too, haven't you?

568
00:30:35,720 --> 00:30:36,720
Yeah.

569
00:30:36,720 --> 00:30:37,720
Yeah.

570
00:30:37,720 --> 00:30:38,720
Because we drive hours.

571
00:30:38,720 --> 00:30:42,680
I mean, sometimes we get in the car, we'll go for 10 hours and we'll buy what's the healthiest

572
00:30:42,680 --> 00:30:43,680
chips.

573
00:30:43,680 --> 00:30:44,680
There aren't any.

574
00:30:44,680 --> 00:30:45,680
There isn't any.

575
00:30:45,680 --> 00:30:48,520
And we buy all kinds of kinds of nuts and stuff.

576
00:30:48,520 --> 00:30:53,360
And I was eating different nuts and I was breaking out in rashes because I was eating

577
00:30:53,360 --> 00:30:55,160
a little too much.

578
00:30:55,160 --> 00:30:58,200
But when you're in the car, you just start munching, you know.

579
00:30:58,200 --> 00:31:01,120
And so we don't even buy snacks anymore.

580
00:31:01,120 --> 00:31:03,720
And all we do is dehydrate.

581
00:31:03,720 --> 00:31:04,720
We make beef jerky.

582
00:31:04,720 --> 00:31:05,720
Yeah.

583
00:31:05,720 --> 00:31:11,240
Just slice it, you know, quarter inch dehydrated, got to dehydrate it for Christmas.

584
00:31:11,240 --> 00:31:14,920
And she'll just dip some of that butter going down the road.

585
00:31:14,920 --> 00:31:15,920
And we'll do that in lunch.

586
00:31:15,920 --> 00:31:17,200
And you don't feel like snacking.

587
00:31:17,200 --> 00:31:18,200
And you don't feel like snacking.

588
00:31:18,200 --> 00:31:20,840
You know, you have a couple of hamburger patties.

589
00:31:20,840 --> 00:31:22,840
We'll do that.

590
00:31:22,840 --> 00:31:23,840
So it's easy.

591
00:31:23,840 --> 00:31:25,880
It's a very easy diet.

592
00:31:25,880 --> 00:31:31,040
But for what we have to do with the line of work we do, the way we have to travel, we

593
00:31:31,040 --> 00:31:34,200
have to eat healthy where our bodies are.

594
00:31:34,200 --> 00:31:36,120
We're not going to age so fast.

595
00:31:36,120 --> 00:31:37,120
Right.

596
00:31:37,120 --> 00:31:38,120
Right.

597
00:31:38,120 --> 00:31:39,120
And I think Jesus likes that too.

598
00:31:39,120 --> 00:31:40,120
Well, how about Derek Prince?

599
00:31:40,120 --> 00:31:43,040
Do you remember what the Lord spoke to Derek Prince?

600
00:31:43,040 --> 00:31:45,200
I've said this before and I'll just say it again.

601
00:31:45,200 --> 00:31:50,000
The Lord spoke to Derek Prince and said, I have lots of things for you to do, but if

602
00:31:50,000 --> 00:31:55,960
you don't change the way you eat and the way you exercise, your body will not be able to

603
00:31:55,960 --> 00:31:59,560
keep up to do all of these things that I have for you.

604
00:31:59,560 --> 00:32:00,560
Wow.

605
00:32:00,560 --> 00:32:04,320
And that's why I think Catherine Kuhlman, she went home early.

606
00:32:04,320 --> 00:32:08,120
She had heart issues because her breakfast was coffee and donuts.

607
00:32:08,120 --> 00:32:09,120
Yes.

608
00:32:09,120 --> 00:32:13,000
And the Lord sent somebody to her and gave her the word of the Lord.

609
00:32:13,000 --> 00:32:15,080
You've got to stop eating that way.

610
00:32:15,080 --> 00:32:16,080
But she didn't.

611
00:32:16,080 --> 00:32:19,440
But anyway, the point is eat with Jesus.

612
00:32:19,440 --> 00:32:23,000
Now we're not saying that you need to become a carnivore.

613
00:32:23,000 --> 00:32:26,520
We're saying that you need to listen to what the Holy Spirit says.

614
00:32:26,520 --> 00:32:28,480
But here's a few tips.

615
00:32:28,480 --> 00:32:35,480
Like if you are a drinker of carbonated drinks, stop, stop carbonated drinks and drink water.

616
00:32:35,480 --> 00:32:39,960
Even just that one change will make a difference in your health.

617
00:32:39,960 --> 00:32:41,640
Just changing just that one thing.

618
00:32:41,640 --> 00:32:45,480
Yeah, one can of Pepsi or Coke has what like how many?

619
00:32:45,480 --> 00:32:47,720
Oh, many teaspoons of sugar.

620
00:32:47,720 --> 00:32:49,400
Teaspoons and teaspoons of sugar.

621
00:32:49,400 --> 00:32:50,400
It's loaded with it.

622
00:32:50,400 --> 00:32:51,400
It's loaded with sugar.

623
00:32:51,400 --> 00:32:53,760
So it's compromising your immune system.

624
00:32:53,760 --> 00:32:54,760
Yeah.

625
00:32:54,760 --> 00:32:58,400
The more sugar you take in, the more you're compromising your immune system.

626
00:32:58,400 --> 00:33:06,160
Now I will say this, that as you are getting off of sugar, you may go through some withdrawals.

627
00:33:06,160 --> 00:33:07,160
Some withdrawals.

628
00:33:07,160 --> 00:33:10,480
So, you know, even if you want to do it slowly.

629
00:33:10,480 --> 00:33:15,520
Like if you're used to drinking three sodas a day, just cut back to two, then cut back

630
00:33:15,520 --> 00:33:20,520
to one, but add water because the water is going to help to rinse out.

631
00:33:20,520 --> 00:33:26,360
Yeah, flush out whatever toxins you've been maintaining because of all this sugar that

632
00:33:26,360 --> 00:33:28,520
you're taking in.

633
00:33:28,520 --> 00:33:30,500
Stop eating bad fats.

634
00:33:30,500 --> 00:33:32,040
Stop eating processed foods.

635
00:33:32,040 --> 00:33:35,680
Pay attention to what is on the labels of things.

636
00:33:35,680 --> 00:33:40,400
If you can't pronounce it, if there's a whole bunch of things that you can't pronounce,

637
00:33:40,400 --> 00:33:41,400
it's probably not natural.

638
00:33:41,400 --> 00:33:42,400
Yeah.

639
00:33:42,400 --> 00:33:44,320
You know, we were in, it was Sam's Club, I think it was.

640
00:33:44,320 --> 00:33:46,160
They had a box of frozen hamburgers.

641
00:33:46,160 --> 00:33:47,160
They're not cooked yet.

642
00:33:47,160 --> 00:33:51,240
You know, it was like 32 hamburgers for $29.

643
00:33:51,240 --> 00:33:54,520
And I saw, look at the ingredients, 100% beef.

644
00:33:54,520 --> 00:33:56,000
It didn't have anything else.

645
00:33:56,000 --> 00:33:57,000
Hallelujah.

646
00:33:57,000 --> 00:33:58,360
You know, that's great.

647
00:33:58,360 --> 00:34:02,680
So we bought a box and let's continue buying them.

648
00:34:02,680 --> 00:34:03,680
Yes.

649
00:34:03,680 --> 00:34:05,600
So there's some simple things you can do.

650
00:34:05,600 --> 00:34:10,360
If you're used to drinking milk and you drink low fat milk, start drinking whole milk.

651
00:34:10,360 --> 00:34:11,360
You can start drinking whole milk instead.

652
00:34:11,360 --> 00:34:14,080
Because you need the fat that's in the milk.

653
00:34:14,080 --> 00:34:19,440
If you get raw milk, that's even better because your body knows how to process it better.

654
00:34:19,440 --> 00:34:24,760
Pasteurized milk that is pasteurized with heat is probably not a bad thing, but that

655
00:34:24,760 --> 00:34:30,480
which has been pasteurized by some chemical is probably changing the molecular structure

656
00:34:30,480 --> 00:34:32,840
of the milk and it's not going to be as good.

657
00:34:32,840 --> 00:34:33,840
Yeah.

658
00:34:33,840 --> 00:34:35,040
And it's like the yogurt you make.

659
00:34:35,040 --> 00:34:36,040
Oh yeah.

660
00:34:36,040 --> 00:34:37,040
It takes 24 hours.

661
00:34:37,040 --> 00:34:38,040
Yeah.

662
00:34:38,040 --> 00:34:39,040
I incubate it for 24 hours.

663
00:34:39,040 --> 00:34:40,040
Incubate it.

664
00:34:40,040 --> 00:34:42,000
And it's kind of just overnight like they recommend.

665
00:34:42,000 --> 00:34:45,320
And that gets all the extra lactose out of it.

666
00:34:45,320 --> 00:34:46,320
Yeah.

667
00:34:46,320 --> 00:34:47,320
Yeah.

668
00:34:47,320 --> 00:34:48,320
Which is a carbohydrate.

669
00:34:48,320 --> 00:34:49,320
It's a kind of a carbohydrate.

670
00:34:49,320 --> 00:34:54,640
So you're reducing your carbohydrates and you're increasing your probiotics by making your

671
00:34:54,640 --> 00:34:55,640
own.

672
00:34:55,640 --> 00:35:01,240
And if you're interested, just send me an email at feedback at globaloutpouring.org

673
00:35:01,240 --> 00:35:03,520
and I'll give you my recipe for homemade yogurt.

674
00:35:03,520 --> 00:35:05,560
It's really simple.

675
00:35:05,560 --> 00:35:06,800
Yeah.

676
00:35:06,800 --> 00:35:07,800
And meat.

677
00:35:07,800 --> 00:35:10,840
We've been told red meat is bad for you.

678
00:35:10,840 --> 00:35:11,840
Yeah.

679
00:35:11,840 --> 00:35:13,600
I only ate meat twice, about twice a week.

680
00:35:13,600 --> 00:35:14,600
Yeah.

681
00:35:14,600 --> 00:35:15,600
And I was suffering because we were only eating.

682
00:35:15,600 --> 00:35:16,600
And I was gaining weight.

683
00:35:16,600 --> 00:35:17,600
Yeah.

684
00:35:17,600 --> 00:35:18,600
You know, eating good bread.

685
00:35:18,600 --> 00:35:22,800
I mean, we go to the health food store, get Ezekiel bread or, and of course I loved, you

686
00:35:22,800 --> 00:35:24,840
know, getting Dave's killer bread at Walmart.

687
00:35:24,840 --> 00:35:25,840
Yeah, that was a good one.

688
00:35:25,840 --> 00:35:26,840
That's good.

689
00:35:26,840 --> 00:35:28,920
You know, it's just, it's got a lot of good stuff.

690
00:35:28,920 --> 00:35:30,720
Of course, you know, put butter on it.

691
00:35:30,720 --> 00:35:32,600
And I didn't put a lot of butter on it.

692
00:35:32,600 --> 00:35:33,600
Yeah.

693
00:35:33,600 --> 00:35:35,000
You thought that fat was bad for you.

694
00:35:35,000 --> 00:35:36,000
Yeah.

695
00:35:36,000 --> 00:35:38,520
And I was just trying to eat even good grains.

696
00:35:38,520 --> 00:35:43,000
But, but when we went on the road, our last trip, we were gone for three and a half weeks.

697
00:35:43,000 --> 00:35:47,080
I gained back probably five, maybe five, six, seven, eight pounds.

698
00:35:47,080 --> 00:35:48,080
Because you weren't being careful.

699
00:35:48,080 --> 00:35:49,080
No, I'm being careful.

700
00:35:49,080 --> 00:35:50,080
And sometimes you can't.

701
00:35:50,080 --> 00:35:51,960
Sometimes you can't cause we, we have a thing.

702
00:35:51,960 --> 00:35:53,600
We eat what's put before us.

703
00:35:53,600 --> 00:35:54,600
Right.

704
00:35:54,600 --> 00:35:55,840
Somebody puts a piece of pie in front of me.

705
00:35:55,840 --> 00:35:56,840
Okay.

706
00:35:56,840 --> 00:35:57,840
I'll leave it.

707
00:35:57,840 --> 00:35:58,840
Thank you, Jesus.

708
00:35:58,840 --> 00:35:59,840
You know, I try to say no, thank you.

709
00:35:59,840 --> 00:36:00,840
Yeah.

710
00:36:00,840 --> 00:36:04,080
But when we get home, get off the buns, you know, cause usually you get in a hamburger

711
00:36:04,080 --> 00:36:06,720
or something that's on a white flour bun.

712
00:36:06,720 --> 00:36:09,360
That's doesn't have any nutrition in it at all.

713
00:36:09,360 --> 00:36:10,360
Right.

714
00:36:10,360 --> 00:36:11,540
You know, the, but just eliminate.

715
00:36:11,540 --> 00:36:18,320
So I eliminate all that stuff and I go back down to my 132 is where I'm sitting at.

716
00:36:18,320 --> 00:36:19,320
Skinny guy.

717
00:36:19,320 --> 00:36:20,320
Skinny guy.

718
00:36:20,320 --> 00:36:21,320
Yeah.

719
00:36:21,320 --> 00:36:24,040
But I wanted to say that we've been told that red meat is bad for you and it is not.

720
00:36:24,040 --> 00:36:25,040
No, it's not.

721
00:36:25,040 --> 00:36:26,080
It is not bad for you.

722
00:36:26,080 --> 00:36:27,200
It is very good for you.

723
00:36:27,200 --> 00:36:32,160
It's very dense nutrition and it will stick with you.

724
00:36:32,160 --> 00:36:38,160
If I eat a rib eye steak, which doesn't happen very often, but I love it when it does.

725
00:36:38,160 --> 00:36:44,520
If I eat a rib eye steak, I can go six, seven hours without getting hungry because of the

726
00:36:44,520 --> 00:36:47,280
dense nutrition of the meat and the fat or brisket.

727
00:36:47,280 --> 00:36:49,400
It's great stuff.

728
00:36:49,400 --> 00:36:50,400
Lots of fat.

729
00:36:50,400 --> 00:36:51,400
It's good for you.

730
00:36:51,400 --> 00:36:53,760
If you go to golden Corral, you know, they have brisket.

731
00:36:53,760 --> 00:36:56,080
We could just make a meal on that.

732
00:36:56,080 --> 00:36:57,800
It's great.

733
00:36:57,800 --> 00:36:58,800
Wherever.

734
00:36:58,800 --> 00:37:05,320
So, you know, if you're going to eat bread, eat good bread, eat bread that least has the

735
00:37:05,320 --> 00:37:06,320
whole grain.

736
00:37:06,320 --> 00:37:07,320
Whole grain.

737
00:37:07,320 --> 00:37:11,320
And I'll just say if your mother had learned this trick about the hockey pucks, you know,

738
00:37:11,320 --> 00:37:17,400
the hockey puck pancakes, I learned when we were using grains that if you mix half whole

739
00:37:17,400 --> 00:37:22,440
wheat and half oatmeal, oatmeal is also a whole grain.

740
00:37:22,440 --> 00:37:25,280
The oatmeal lightens it up and it makes it very nice.

741
00:37:25,280 --> 00:37:29,400
If you're going to do baked goods, pay attention to what you're doing.

742
00:37:29,400 --> 00:37:33,080
Make sure that you do good stuff and use lots of butter.

743
00:37:33,080 --> 00:37:34,200
Lots and lots of butter.

744
00:37:34,200 --> 00:37:36,000
It's good for you.

745
00:37:36,000 --> 00:37:38,680
The two of us will do about a stick a day.

746
00:37:38,680 --> 00:37:40,240
Yeah, we were going through a stick a day.

747
00:37:40,240 --> 00:37:43,040
Now some carnivores are eating a whole stick by themselves.

748
00:37:43,040 --> 00:37:47,400
Individual, we're not quite like that, but we're just trying to encourage you of things

749
00:37:47,400 --> 00:37:52,280
that you can do to increase your health.

750
00:37:52,280 --> 00:37:55,400
So another thing we have to think about is exercise.

751
00:37:55,400 --> 00:38:00,280
And that doesn't mean that you have to go and get a membership at a gym.

752
00:38:00,280 --> 00:38:03,280
Doesn't mean you have to do calisthenics.

753
00:38:03,280 --> 00:38:07,000
It doesn't mean you have to pump iron, you know, lifting weights.

754
00:38:07,000 --> 00:38:11,600
But what it does mean is pay attention to what the Holy Spirit is saying.

755
00:38:11,600 --> 00:38:14,340
One of the best things you can do is walk.

756
00:38:14,340 --> 00:38:15,340
Just walking.

757
00:38:15,340 --> 00:38:18,320
Well, some of these Fitbit watches, I don't have one.

758
00:38:18,320 --> 00:38:21,800
I don't want to wear one of those things because I don't think it's good to have those on your

759
00:38:21,800 --> 00:38:22,800
body.

760
00:38:22,800 --> 00:38:24,680
But that's a personal viewpoint.

761
00:38:24,680 --> 00:38:29,920
But it'll measure your steps so that you get in enough steps in the day for your body to

762
00:38:29,920 --> 00:38:32,880
have a good amount of exercise.

763
00:38:32,880 --> 00:38:36,720
And one of the things that's real good for you is to get one of those little trampolines.

764
00:38:36,720 --> 00:38:37,720
Yes, we have.

765
00:38:37,720 --> 00:38:38,920
A rebounder.

766
00:38:38,920 --> 00:38:40,800
And that works your lymphatic system.

767
00:38:40,800 --> 00:38:41,800
Right.

768
00:38:41,800 --> 00:38:43,280
Because we've seen the difference in that.

769
00:38:43,280 --> 00:38:46,320
You know, looking at live blood under a microscope.

770
00:38:46,320 --> 00:38:48,360
You know, that's one of the things that they would recommend.

771
00:38:48,360 --> 00:38:53,680
They can look at your live blood, which doctors don't do, and they can see how much oxygen

772
00:38:53,680 --> 00:38:54,840
what's in your blood.

773
00:38:54,840 --> 00:38:58,680
The cells are all stuck together because they're robbed of oxygen.

774
00:38:58,680 --> 00:39:03,560
But when you do a helping with a rebounder that works all the lymphatic because you have

775
00:39:03,560 --> 00:39:06,420
more lymphatic fluid in your body than you do blood.

776
00:39:06,420 --> 00:39:07,840
What you're doing is circulating it.

777
00:39:07,840 --> 00:39:12,080
When you're moving your muscles, you're circulating your lymphatic system.

778
00:39:12,080 --> 00:39:16,360
So walking, like I said, is one of the best things that you can do.

779
00:39:16,360 --> 00:39:19,280
And consider prayer walking.

780
00:39:19,280 --> 00:39:24,000
Consider, okay, I can walk and pray at the same time.

781
00:39:24,000 --> 00:39:29,320
So you're getting bodily exercise while you're communing with the Lord.

782
00:39:29,320 --> 00:39:34,260
So this is all about becoming one with Him, spirit, soul, and body.

783
00:39:34,260 --> 00:39:39,480
So you're engaging your spirit while you're walking and your body is going to get in the

784
00:39:39,480 --> 00:39:41,020
swing of things.

785
00:39:41,020 --> 00:39:44,820
Another thing you can do, what I did when we were getting ready to go to Tibet a number

786
00:39:44,820 --> 00:39:49,880
of years ago, I knew I had to get in shape, but I didn't have time to do a bunch of exercise.

787
00:39:49,880 --> 00:39:52,200
I didn't have time to go for walks.

788
00:39:52,200 --> 00:39:55,680
Her lifestyle wasn't that way that I could do that.

789
00:39:55,680 --> 00:39:59,040
So I mean, I was a young mother at the time and it just didn't work.

790
00:39:59,040 --> 00:40:05,680
So I had a leading from the Holy Spirit, I believe that whenever I had to go upstairs,

791
00:40:05,680 --> 00:40:09,400
wherever I was, whether it was in our house or whether I was in the office or wherever

792
00:40:09,400 --> 00:40:15,520
I was, if I had to go to the next floor, I would go up, but I would go up and down and

793
00:40:15,520 --> 00:40:17,060
up and down and up.

794
00:40:17,060 --> 00:40:20,840
So then when I was going to go back down, I would go down and up and down and up and

795
00:40:20,840 --> 00:40:21,840
down.

796
00:40:21,840 --> 00:40:27,960
So I was getting those extra motions and extra building of my legs so that I would have the

797
00:40:27,960 --> 00:40:30,820
strength to be able to walk when I got to Tibet.

798
00:40:30,820 --> 00:40:33,400
And everything is steep in Tibet.

799
00:40:33,400 --> 00:40:34,400
Everything.

800
00:40:34,400 --> 00:40:37,720
There's at least two kinds of stairs in Tibet.

801
00:40:37,720 --> 00:40:42,040
There's steep wooden steps and steep stone steps, but they're all steep.

802
00:40:42,040 --> 00:40:44,140
It's like climbing a ladder.

803
00:40:44,140 --> 00:40:48,320
So I was better prepared because I had done that because the Holy Spirit led me.

804
00:40:48,320 --> 00:40:49,980
This is the whole point.

805
00:40:49,980 --> 00:40:51,720
Walk with God.

806
00:40:51,720 --> 00:40:53,600
Let the Holy Spirit help you.

807
00:40:53,600 --> 00:40:59,000
So when you're working on walking, I don't know about you, but posture is an issue for

808
00:40:59,000 --> 00:41:00,000
me.

809
00:41:00,000 --> 00:41:05,180
I've spent way too many years sitting at a desk, bending over towards my computer and

810
00:41:05,180 --> 00:41:07,640
I'm working on my posture.

811
00:41:07,640 --> 00:41:13,480
And one of the things that I've learned about your posture is get your ears over your shoulders

812
00:41:13,480 --> 00:41:19,640
and then get your ribs over your hips and then get your hips over your heels.

813
00:41:19,640 --> 00:41:22,320
Get your ears over your shoulders.

814
00:41:22,320 --> 00:41:23,680
That's like tucking your chin back.

815
00:41:23,680 --> 00:41:25,440
It's not like tipping your head back.

816
00:41:25,440 --> 00:41:28,160
It's about tucking back with your chin.

817
00:41:28,160 --> 00:41:32,880
So you get your ears over your shoulders, get your ribs over your hips, and then get

818
00:41:32,880 --> 00:41:35,320
your hips over your heels and then go for a walk.

819
00:41:35,320 --> 00:41:41,640
I'm constantly having to correct myself as I'm walking, but I'm trying to work on this.

820
00:41:41,640 --> 00:41:46,320
And I feel so good when I get my head up and get, because really what I felt like I was

821
00:41:46,320 --> 00:41:50,060
doing is because you're putting your ears over your shoulders, you're not leading with

822
00:41:50,060 --> 00:41:51,060
your head.

823
00:41:51,060 --> 00:41:54,000
Well, that'll preach, won't it?

824
00:41:54,000 --> 00:41:55,860
You're really leading with your heart.

825
00:41:55,860 --> 00:41:59,760
Your heart is going out there ahead of you instead of your head.

826
00:41:59,760 --> 00:42:01,440
So that's one of the things I've been working on.

827
00:42:01,440 --> 00:42:03,600
I've never told you that, but.

828
00:42:03,600 --> 00:42:10,680
And there's lots of help on YouTube for finding exercises that fit your age group.

829
00:42:10,680 --> 00:42:11,720
Okay.

830
00:42:11,720 --> 00:42:13,540
So we're over 55.

831
00:42:13,540 --> 00:42:15,680
We can look at the ones that are for over 55.

832
00:42:15,680 --> 00:42:18,920
Actually, we're over 65, but don't tell anybody.

833
00:42:18,920 --> 00:42:21,900
And we feel really young.

834
00:42:21,900 --> 00:42:28,860
So there are appropriate exercises for different age groups and everybody can improve wherever

835
00:42:28,860 --> 00:42:30,260
they are.

836
00:42:30,260 --> 00:42:33,840
There's always something that you can do that will help to improve.

837
00:42:33,840 --> 00:42:37,680
Stretching is even one of the things that you can do stretching your various kinds of

838
00:42:37,680 --> 00:42:38,980
muscles.

839
00:42:38,980 --> 00:42:42,320
And there's exercises you can find on YouTube for that.

840
00:42:42,320 --> 00:42:44,120
But I do want to say this.

841
00:42:44,120 --> 00:42:47,480
There's a lot of things out there pushing chair yoga.

842
00:42:47,480 --> 00:42:54,120
Now, you might be able to get in shape sitting in a chair by doing exercises in a chair,

843
00:42:54,120 --> 00:42:57,720
but if it's connected to yoga, do not go there.

844
00:42:57,720 --> 00:42:58,720
That's right.

845
00:42:58,720 --> 00:43:01,760
Because if you sit there, you're meditating on nothing.

846
00:43:01,760 --> 00:43:05,640
You're opening your spirit up and something is going to come in.

847
00:43:05,640 --> 00:43:07,000
If you open it up.

848
00:43:07,000 --> 00:43:08,000
That's true.

849
00:43:08,000 --> 00:43:09,000
That's true.

850
00:43:09,000 --> 00:43:14,520
And all of this chair yoga, any kind of yoga, please avoid yoga because it's rooted in Hinduism,

851
00:43:14,520 --> 00:43:16,560
which is rooted in demons.

852
00:43:16,560 --> 00:43:21,880
And when your spirit guide, which they tell you to get, that's a, it's not the Holy Spirit.

853
00:43:21,880 --> 00:43:23,160
No, no, no, no.

854
00:43:23,160 --> 00:43:28,160
But you want to be guided by your spirit guide, which is the Holy Spirit.

855
00:43:28,160 --> 00:43:30,360
And don't let anybody tell you different.

856
00:43:30,360 --> 00:43:32,560
Stay away from yoga.

857
00:43:32,560 --> 00:43:33,560
Amen.

858
00:43:33,560 --> 00:43:36,800
So the third thing that is critical is rest.

859
00:43:36,800 --> 00:43:45,240
Remember what Dean Braxton said three episodes ago about how he didn't take the time to rest

860
00:43:45,240 --> 00:43:51,320
and it compromised his health and he wound up almost losing his life again.

861
00:43:51,320 --> 00:43:52,780
Was very, very serious.

862
00:43:52,780 --> 00:43:57,840
And the Lord said to him, you gave me your spirit and you've given me your soul and your

863
00:43:57,840 --> 00:44:01,560
working on it, but you never gave me your body.

864
00:44:01,560 --> 00:44:03,160
And that's what this is all about.

865
00:44:03,160 --> 00:44:10,000
That we will so become one in our spirit, soul and body, one with the Holy Spirit, one

866
00:44:10,000 --> 00:44:16,840
with Jesus, that he can do anything through us, in us, by us, to us, you know, we're all

867
00:44:16,840 --> 00:44:17,840
still growing.

868
00:44:17,840 --> 00:44:23,120
We're all still in the process of becoming more like him, but that's what walking with

869
00:44:23,120 --> 00:44:25,320
God is really all about.

870
00:44:25,320 --> 00:44:29,280
So whatever you do, do all things unto the Lord.

871
00:44:29,280 --> 00:44:34,300
Now one thing I've learned about lack of sleep and I've learned it from personal experience.

872
00:44:34,300 --> 00:44:42,240
You can gain weight if you don't get enough sleep because for me, you know, confessions

873
00:44:42,240 --> 00:44:47,960
here, I usually have had this terrible habit of procrastination and putting things off

874
00:44:47,960 --> 00:44:49,680
until the last minute.

875
00:44:49,680 --> 00:44:52,280
And then you got to work all night to get it done.

876
00:44:52,280 --> 00:44:55,220
You know, that was a habit I started when I was in high school.

877
00:44:55,220 --> 00:44:56,220
And I've improved.

878
00:44:56,220 --> 00:44:57,220
Yes, you have.

879
00:44:57,220 --> 00:44:58,220
I have improved.

880
00:44:58,220 --> 00:45:02,600
I've tried and especially the last few years, I've really been convicted about getting enough

881
00:45:02,600 --> 00:45:04,000
rest.

882
00:45:04,000 --> 00:45:08,360
So we've been doing much better about that, but you can gain weight very easily if you're

883
00:45:08,360 --> 00:45:11,760
working extra hours instead of sleeping.

884
00:45:11,760 --> 00:45:13,280
Because if you don't sleep, you got to eat.

885
00:45:13,280 --> 00:45:14,280
You eat to stay awake.

886
00:45:14,280 --> 00:45:15,960
You eat to stay awake.

887
00:45:15,960 --> 00:45:18,740
You're up in the middle of the night and you get hungry.

888
00:45:18,740 --> 00:45:20,720
You wouldn't get hungry if you were sleeping.

889
00:45:20,720 --> 00:45:21,720
Probably.

890
00:45:21,720 --> 00:45:22,720
I mean, you might.

891
00:45:22,720 --> 00:45:25,080
Some people have to get up in the middle of the night and have a snack.

892
00:45:25,080 --> 00:45:30,680
But my point is we pay attention to getting enough rest.

893
00:45:30,680 --> 00:45:32,980
You've got to get enough rest.

894
00:45:32,980 --> 00:45:39,240
So Matthew 11, 28 to 30 is what we're going to close here with.

895
00:45:39,240 --> 00:45:42,560
Philip, would you read that from the Passion?

896
00:45:42,560 --> 00:45:45,340
Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden?

897
00:45:45,340 --> 00:45:50,440
Come to me, I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis.

898
00:45:50,440 --> 00:45:52,120
Simply join your life with mine.

899
00:45:52,120 --> 00:45:57,200
Go in my ways and you'll discover that I'm gentle, humble, easy to please.

900
00:45:57,200 --> 00:46:02,960
You will find refreshment and rest in me, for all that I require of you will be pleasant

901
00:46:02,960 --> 00:46:04,840
and easy to bear.

902
00:46:04,840 --> 00:46:05,840
Amen.

903
00:46:05,840 --> 00:46:11,440
And I just want to add the footnotes to that where it says, are you weary, carrying a heavy

904
00:46:11,440 --> 00:46:12,600
burden?

905
00:46:12,600 --> 00:46:17,880
The footnote on that says, many times Jesus said, come after me or follow me.

906
00:46:17,880 --> 00:46:20,760
But only here does he say, come to me.

907
00:46:20,760 --> 00:46:21,760
Isn't that beautiful?

908
00:46:21,760 --> 00:46:23,760
Come weary, come to him.

909
00:46:23,760 --> 00:46:30,480
I always try to, as I close my eyes, as I get my head on the pillow, I just give myself

910
00:46:30,480 --> 00:46:31,480
to him.

911
00:46:31,480 --> 00:46:36,800
You know, I just begin to breathe in his presence, breathe in his love, because oxygen is his

912
00:46:36,800 --> 00:46:38,200
love.

913
00:46:38,200 --> 00:46:45,360
And just breathing in his presence just gets me ready to rest and I wake up more refreshed

914
00:46:45,360 --> 00:46:46,880
as a result.

915
00:46:46,880 --> 00:46:53,280
So the second footnote is that for I am your oasis is translated from the Aramaic.

916
00:46:53,280 --> 00:46:55,280
The Aramaic gives this idea of an oasis.

917
00:46:55,280 --> 00:46:58,280
So picture yourself in a desert.

918
00:46:58,280 --> 00:47:02,960
And here's this place with palm trees and water in the middle of the desert.

919
00:47:02,960 --> 00:47:05,120
That is what Jesus is to us.

920
00:47:05,120 --> 00:47:08,480
He is that place where we can rest.

921
00:47:08,480 --> 00:47:11,200
Where it says, simply join your life with mine.

922
00:47:11,200 --> 00:47:14,500
The footnote says, or bend your neck to my yoke.

923
00:47:14,500 --> 00:47:20,100
The metaphor of a yoke is that it joins two animals to work as one.

924
00:47:20,100 --> 00:47:25,960
It is not simply work or toil that is the focus here, but union with Christ.

925
00:47:25,960 --> 00:47:30,360
So as we become one with him, we get into the yoke with him.

926
00:47:30,360 --> 00:47:35,960
And you know, if you look at two animals that are yoked together to pull a plow or to pull

927
00:47:35,960 --> 00:47:41,920
a wagon or something, they're doing it together and it's lighter than if either one of them

928
00:47:41,920 --> 00:47:43,920
had to do it by themselves.

929
00:47:43,920 --> 00:47:50,760
So our union with Jesus, becoming one with him, letting him come in to dine with us,

930
00:47:50,760 --> 00:47:54,200
letting him come in to be our bridegroom.

931
00:47:54,200 --> 00:47:57,320
I want to live with you, Jesus, all the rest of my life.

932
00:47:57,320 --> 00:47:58,320
Yes.

933
00:47:58,320 --> 00:47:59,320
Hallelujah.

934
00:47:59,320 --> 00:48:00,320
Hallelujah.

935
00:48:00,320 --> 00:48:03,140
So are you listening for his voice?

936
00:48:03,140 --> 00:48:05,120
Is he knocking on your door?

937
00:48:05,120 --> 00:48:07,320
Is there a door in you?

938
00:48:07,320 --> 00:48:10,260
Is there a door inside of you that you've welcomed him in?

939
00:48:10,260 --> 00:48:12,120
Maybe he's in the foyer.

940
00:48:12,120 --> 00:48:14,680
Maybe he's in the living room.

941
00:48:14,680 --> 00:48:17,060
But have you let him in that closet?

942
00:48:17,060 --> 00:48:19,620
He wants to get into that closet too.

943
00:48:19,620 --> 00:48:26,940
He wants to get into that little store room where you just throw things that somebody's

944
00:48:26,940 --> 00:48:27,940
coming over.

945
00:48:27,940 --> 00:48:29,840
I've got to do something with this mess.

946
00:48:29,840 --> 00:48:33,880
And you open the door to the store room and it all goes in there and sooner or later.

947
00:48:33,880 --> 00:48:36,280
You've got to deal with it.

948
00:48:36,280 --> 00:48:38,960
Well, it's time to let Jesus in that door.

949
00:48:38,960 --> 00:48:42,120
It's time to let him in to all of these things.

950
00:48:42,120 --> 00:48:47,040
He's standing at the door and knocking and he wants to be bridegroom to us.

951
00:48:47,040 --> 00:48:51,840
He wants to be the one that will live with all of eternity.

952
00:48:51,840 --> 00:48:52,840
Yeah.

953
00:48:52,840 --> 00:48:53,840
Hallelujah.

954
00:48:53,840 --> 00:48:54,840
Hallelujah.

955
00:48:54,840 --> 00:48:58,000
Invite him into supper and learn what he likes to eat.

956
00:48:58,000 --> 00:48:59,000
Hallelujah.

957
00:48:59,000 --> 00:49:03,760
Holy Spirit, we just thank you for leading us and guiding us.

958
00:49:03,760 --> 00:49:08,080
Lord, we thank you for opening up our hearts.

959
00:49:08,080 --> 00:49:13,160
Lord, that longing, that hunger to be with you, that hunger to spend more time with you,

960
00:49:13,160 --> 00:49:17,840
that hunger to be more ruled by you, that hunger for your presence.

961
00:49:17,840 --> 00:49:22,360
Lord, we thank you for increasing that in each one of us, Lord.

962
00:49:22,360 --> 00:49:28,120
And we thank you, Father, that you are doing things in us that are making us more like

963
00:49:28,120 --> 00:49:34,720
you so that we can arise and shine in these days as you're about to pour out your spirit

964
00:49:34,720 --> 00:49:38,120
in a greater way than this planet has ever seen before.

965
00:49:38,120 --> 00:49:40,520
Lord, thank you that you are equipping us.

966
00:49:40,520 --> 00:49:41,520
Yes, Father.

967
00:49:41,520 --> 00:49:48,240
So that you will have a people ready to rise and shine in Jesus' name.

968
00:49:48,240 --> 00:49:49,240
Amen.

969
00:49:49,240 --> 00:49:50,240
Amen.
