From the Bible to Balfour
Three decades before Israel’s independence, Lord Arthur Balfour issued what’s known as the Balfour Declaration on behalf of the government of England. Balfour stated that the official government policy was to establish a Jewish homeland in the Land of Israel, and that it committed itself to work to that goal. As important as that is in modern history, authority for Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel is established in the Bible.
