In December 1944, Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds was captured after the bloody Battle of the Bulge, and taken to an infamous Nazi POW camp. Living under unspeakable conditions, simply surviving the winter was not to be taken for granted. Despite the conditions, Edmonds literally stood up to his Nazi captors, risking his own life during the final days of World War II to save Jewish soldiers under his command. For that, years later, he was officially recognized by Israel as a Righteous Gentile. Here’s his story.
