Tammuz is a month we remember the destruction of our relationship with Father God when the Israelites chose to worship a golden calf instead of the one true God. This is fourth month of religious calendar and tenth month of civil calendar. Tammuz is named after a Babylonia god as a remembrance of the pain suffered by the Jewish people when the chose to worship false gods. Exodus 32: 7-8 (KJV), “And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.” The Lord wants us to turn our back on the other gods that cause us to be distracted and serve them! God is revealing the idols that we worship that can even include the blessings that God gives us! Don’t let your blessings become a stronghold for you where you are drawn away from deep and abiding relationship with Lord because you’re too focused on your provision. God wants to increase your faith so it’s tangible and will produce a wealth of blessings in the earth for Gods kingdom! God wants you to believe He creates the wealth and gives you the tangible faith increase in Him to establish His covenant with you so you can rest in Him! Tammuz reveals where we are off in this belief just as it did for the Israelites ! God gave them wealth and they still faltered! Where is He showing us that we lack faith that can open us up to destruction and even sin just like the Israelites .
