The sin of the Christian

The sin of the Christian

In episode 13, Ken discusses a profound topic: "The Sin of the Christian."

He draws a powerful analogy between the "sin of the desert" – knowing where to find water and not sharing it – and the even graver "sin of the Christian" – knowing where to find eternal life (living water) and failing to share it with others. Ken shares his personal experiences and emphasizes the importance of sharing the Gospel with those who need it.

Ken's podcast is a call to action, urging listeners to pray for and share Jesus with those they encounter. He reminds us of the urgency of the times and the eternal consequences of our actions. Ken's heartfelt message serves as a powerful reminder to fulfill our duty as Christians and spread the message of salvation.

Hello and welcome to The Prophetic Voice. I'm your host, Ken Bailey. In a world full of lies and propaganda, it can be difficult to determine who is telling you the truth. Perhaps you're looking for a place where you can hear a voice of truth, someone who is hearing from God. You've come to the right place.

It's our mission to share the truth of God's Word and the prophetic insights that God has given to me to help you navigate life in these last days before the return of Jesus Christ. In today's episode, number 13, I'll be discussing a tragedy that I've called the sin of the Christian.

As we discuss this important topic, let's also see what God has told us in the scriptures and what the Lord has revealed to me to share with you. At times we'll also incorporate insights from other leaders in the Christian community. So, whether you're a long-time listener or a new follower, we're grateful that you've chosen to join us today. Let's tune in and listen to the prophetic voice.

Well, my friend, it's great to have you with me today. It brings me great joy to have this time with you each week. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the comments of those of you who write and let us know how the program blessed you or challenged you to go deeper in your walk with Christ.

In just a few moments, I'm going to begin our discussion about the sin of the Christian. But before I do, I want you to know that this topic is one of the messages that the Lord had me put into the book that he's asked me to write. The title of my exciting new book is, The End Is Now Coming, God's Urgent Warning to His Church and the Nations. In the book, I share messages that God gave to me for the church.

The Lord has me tell you what is coming in these last days and how you can prepare so that you'll be ready as things continue to become more wicked and immoral in the world as the rapture approaches. The Lord has me deliver messages to you, warning you about the deceptions that are coming upon the world, and you'll know what they are and how you can overcome them. Difficult days are coming for everyone on the earth, including Christians.

Are you prepared for this? You can be. Get the book if you're able by going to amazon.com and just typing the title of the book in the search box. The end is now coming. Well, as I dive into today's topic, I want to begin by telling you about a phrase that's called the sin of the desert. Have you heard that phrase before? The sin of the desert?

The sin of the desert is knowing where to find water and refusing to tell others. I want to repeat it again to you. The sin of the desert is knowing where to find water and refusing to tell others. Over the years, how many people have been lost or stuck in the desert and have not been able to find water as a result, they die.

This is physical death or the first death a human being can experience. It's absolutely evil to know where to find water in the desert and to refuse to tell others about that. Now I want to tell you about the sin of the Christian. Have you heard that phrase before? The sin of the Christian?

It's even more evil than the sin of the desert. And I believe I've coined that phrase. Others may say something similar, but the sin of the Christian is knowing where to find living water and refusing to tell others. I wanna say it again. The sin of the Christian is knowing where to find living water and refusing to tell others. The person who's lost in this world and never finds living water, will die spiritually. This is what Jesus calls the second death. It's more important to get living water than it is to get drinking water. Yes, you'll die in a few days if you don't drink water. However, if you never get living water, you'll experience the second death, which is eternal death. Eternal death is separation from God in a place of torment called hell.

So my friend, it is a tragedy that has eternal consequences when we as Christ followers commit the sin of the Christian. We know where to find living water, and we refuse to tell others at times. I wish I could tell you that I've never committed the sin of the Christian, but that's simply not true.

There have been several times in my life when I knew that the Lord wanted me to share the Gospel, the living water with someone else. And for whatever reason, I didn't do it on that occasion. That's happened to me numerous times in my life. Over the years, I've gotten better.

Perhaps you can relate with me and you've missed out on opportunities when you could have told someone how they can have eternal life through Jesus. Maybe you can relate with me failing to do this at times in my life. Well, I want to share a portion of the story found in the Bible of the woman at the well. So we're going to read a good portion of John chapter four. So if you have your Bible or a phone app, a Bible phone app. I want you to turn to John chapter 4, and we're going to begin reading in verse 4. We'll skip a few verses as we go through this, but beginning in verse 4.

It says, now he had to go through Samaria. So he came to a town in Samaria called Sikkar near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son, Joseph. Jacob's well was there and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her,

Will you give me a drink? His disciples had gone into town to buy food. You may remember that. Verse nine, the Samaritan woman said to him, you are a Jew and I'm a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink? For Jews didn't associate with Samaritans. Jesus answered her, if you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.

Sir, the woman said, you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father, Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?

Jesus answered, Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water, welling up to eternal life. The woman said to him, Sir, give me this water so that I won't get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water. Now skip down to verse 25. The woman said, I know that Messiah.

Christ is coming. When he comes, he'll explain everything to us. Then Jesus declared, I the one speaking to you, I am he. Verse 28, then leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, come see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah? They came out of the town and made their way toward him.

Now let's skip down to verse 39. Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony. He told me everything I ever did. So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with him, and he stayed two days. And because of his words, many more became believers. Then they said to the woman,

We no longer believe just because of what you said. Now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the savior of the world.

What an amazing story. This woman from Samaria came to the well to get water, which she needed for herself, and yet Jesus shows up and offers her living water. Jesus told her that he was the Messiah, the living water. And this woman received the living water. She placed her faith in Jesus, and she received eternal life.

The woman at the well did not commit the sin of the Christian. She found living water and then she went in great joy to tell everyone in the town where they could find living water, where they could find the Messiah and receive eternal life. Isn't that amazing? She just meets Jesus. He tells her that she can receive living water. And she does. She becomes a believer.

She believes that Jesus is the Messiah, that He died for her sins, and she instantly became a Christ follower, a born-again believer. And my friend, this is what we must do. We must go and tell others where they can find living water, just like this Samarian woman did when she met Jesus at the well. We must go tell people about the Messiah and where they can receive eternal life. How do you do it?

You simply tell people your story. You tell people what Jesus has done for you in your life, how he's transformed you. Maybe you were depressed or suicidal, or you'd reached the end. You couldn't go on in life. But someone told you about Jesus during your lifetime. Someone shared living water with you.

I've learned some painful lessons in my lifetime from committing the sin of the Christian. Now I joyfully share the gospel with those who I encounter each day. So let us be faithful as the woman at the well was to share the living water with those in our town, our neighborhood, and to the ends of the earth.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to meet this woman. She'll be in heaven. This woman who was at the well on that faithful day when Jesus arrived in her town, I'll see her in heaven and all the other people in her town who received eternal life because she went and told them about Jesus and living water. Well, I can't believe this. You can't make this stuff up this morning before filming this podcast today. My

I had scheduled my plumber to come over and make a repair at our home, and he showed up to do the repair. And the Holy Spirit reminded me as he was working that I needed to tell him where he could find living water, how he could have eternal life. And I had a choice. Would I obey the Lord and share Christ with him, or would I remain silent and not be obedient?

I thought of this podcast that I was going to make in an hour and the topic, the sin of the Christian. Was I going to commit that sin on the very morning that I would make a podcast and urge you not to commit that sin again? Well, my plumber arrived and when he finished his work, I shared living water with him. I told him how he could have eternal life. I gave him a gospel track to take home and read.

and the decisions now in his hands. I can't save anyone and neither can you. Only the Lord can save. Our mission, our job is just simply to tell our story, and share our faith with others. And then we let the Holy Spirit do what He does and work on them and convict them of their sin and their need for a savior. I couldn't save him, but I shared Jesus with him. And I pray that he will repent of his sins and believe the gospel, maybe even today. He's such a nice man. And I use one of my, I use lines sometimes with people that I meet, like the plumber.

or a waiter or waitress at the restaurant. And so I have a catchy line that I use that I really mean. I said to my plumber this morning, just an hour ago, I'm gonna be mad at you if I don't see you in heaven because I sure like you and I want you in heaven with me. I want you to have eternal life. And I said to him, your life's not gonna last down here.

a long time. And then where are you going to spend eternity? Said you may, you could live to 80 or 90 or whatever, but where are you going to spend eternity? Promise me, I said to him, promise me that you'll read this gospel tract and that you'll consider God's offer of eternal life to you. He said he would read it.

So my friend, does anyone come to mind that you need to share Jesus with? Start praying for people who you know need to be saved, people who do not have the living water inside of them. Better yet, go and share Jesus with those that you feel led to pray for today. Start praying for those that God's already brought into your life, could be a family member or a friend, young people, it could be someone at school, adults, it could be someone you work with. Start praying for them. And then when you're led by the Spirit, be obedient to share Jesus with them, to share living water with them.

Oh, how I pray this for you today. I pray that you'll meet people in heaven who come up to you and say, you may not remember me, but you told me about Jesus long ago. And we never met again. I went on to place my faith in him as my Lord and Savior. And I'm in heaven today because you shared living water with me. Jesus is coming soon.

share Christ with others while there's still time. Let's pray. Father, I thank you that we could just get together today on this podcast with those who are out there who are listening and those who are watching the video podcast. God, I thank you for this time that we have each week where we can be challenged.

to do what you tell us to do, to be obedient. Oh God, I think of the sin of the desert where so many people over the years have died because some selfish person wouldn't share with them where they could find water to get a drink so they wouldn't die and experience the first death. But oh God, what a tragedy it is.

for those of us who claim to be Christ followers, who say we love you and that we name your name and say we're Christians, and then we don't share you with others when the opportunity presents itself to do so. God, I pray that I wouldn't, and that each person listening to this podcast would never again commit the sin of the Christian.

knowing where people can find eternal life, living water, and refusing to tell others. May we always be faithful the rest of our lives to share you, Jesus, with others and tell them how they can be born again and spend eternity in heaven with you.

God, I thank You for our listeners and our viewers. Lord, I love them. I know You love everyone out there and You don't want any to perish. You said in 2 Peter 3, 9, You desire that everyone would repent of their sins and not perish.

Lord God, we love you and we thank you for sending Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins. Lord, thank you for our time together now and I pray all of this now in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
